Northpine has announced the recipients in the latest round of grants from its Stronger Communities fund, a programme established in 2020 to help the people of Bream Bay.
The beneficiaries from the fifth round of funding are:
· Liam Thornhill, a Bream Bay College student and sportsman, to assist his ambition to
compete in motocross events at regional and national secondary school level
· Linking Hands (Inc) – a community health shuttle service using volunteer drives to get
people to and from medical appointments. The grant is for maintenance of the three vehicles
used in Bream Bay.
· Northland Masters Golf – to assist expenses for the national Freyberg Tournament
in November.
· Takahiwai Netball Club – to subsidise the cost of apparel and trophies in the 2021 season.
Total grants allocated in Round 5 is $5,000. In the past 15 months, Northpine has distributed over $23,000 to local individuals, groups and organisations through the Stronger Communities programme.
