On Wednesday the 14th Feb, Northpine held an open day for the community. Even though the rain started coming down we still managed to get an awesome turn out, roughly 30 people!
Everyone was split into 4 groups with a guide to take them around the site. Each group went through the Sawmill where it all begins, to the Kilns and Dry Shed where the timber is dried and stored, to the Weinig where the timber gets machined and lastly to the Treatment Plant where all out timber is treated.
After the tour everyone was invited to Northpine's monthly BBQ where there were everyone could mingle with employees and have a beverage or two. During the BBQ, Bruce Larsen showed all the guests just how strong Northpine's timber really is - everyone was very impressed!
Overall, the open day was a huge success. Our next Open Day will be in early December 2018.
