The 2023 Northpine Waipu Car and Bike Show held last Saturday at Caledonian Park, Waipu, was a big hit – attracting several thousand spectators and 560 exhibitors.
Presented as an annual fundraiser for local worthy causes by Waipu Lions Club, the show had been postponed twice this summer, but finally the weather gods cooperated.
“Early indications are that local groups will receive about $20,000 from the Show”, says Lions president Malcolm Norton. “It was a very good turnout, especially considering the various miseries we’ve all had to endure in Northland and Auckland this summer.
Just getting to and from Waipu right now is not as straight-forward as usual with detours and road closures, so we’re grateful to everyone who kept the faith and made the effort to participate, as well as the dozens of volunteers who worked through the planning stages and over the weekend to give people a fabulous event to enjoy.”
